For the 150th birthday of the Dutch painter Piet Mondrian, (his) constructivism is our exhibition program: The FVKS (Förderverein Kulturstadt Görlitz-Zgorzelec eV) has asked three artists to combine Mondrian's strict geometric forms with their own perspective. The series and individual exhibits pay tribute to his comprehensive work and also provide an insight into contemporary trends. And mostly virtually. “Mondrian in new spaces” is (but) also aimed at people on site. Those interested could artistically implement their own ideas about Piet Mondrian (1872 – 1944) in workshops and presentations.

Shape, color, structure - Astrid Stoeppel (Germany), Izabela Sak (Poland), and Marija Nikolić (Serbia) honor the largest constructive with individual arrangements.

The exhibition series "Mondrian in new spaces" is available online, in three languages (DE/EN/PL), and is freely accessible: From the "I-perspective" you can visit the individual exhibitions, the arrangement of art and space will be on the Internet with mouse and keyboard experienceable 3D.

The project is funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media as part of the Neustart Kultur program, as well as from own funds and contributions from the FVKS (Förderverein Kulturstadt Görlitz-Zgorzelec eV).
